VG Delta gives relief goods to 5,291 Masantol families

Pampanga Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda, Masantol Mayor Dan Guinto, 4th District Board Members Nelson Calara and Pol Balingit, PDRRMO Head Angie Blanco and PSWDO Head Elizabeth Baybayan distribute relief goods in Masantol town on Saturday.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Despite the heavy downpour, Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda led the relief distribution for some 5,291 families in Masantol town on Saturday.

The younger Pineda personally distributed relief goods to residents of barangays Sapang Kawayan, Nigui, Sagrada, Bagang, Balibago, Alauli, Bebe Anac and Bebe Matua.

He was assisted by 4th District Board Members Nelson Calara and Pol Balingit, Masantol Mayor Dan Guinto, Former Apalit Mayor Jun Titangco, Former Masantol Vice Mayor Jun Lacap, Councilor Buboy Lacap, members of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Information Office (PIO) and Municipal Disaster Reduction Risk Management Office (MDRRMO).

Receiving the relief good were 1,105 beneficiaries in Sapang Kawayan; 859 in Nigui; 500 in Sagrada; 727 in Bagang; 897 in Balibago; 538 in Alauli; 510 in Bebe Anac; and 155 in Bebe Matua.

According to the Vice Governor, “ito yung pinakamasarap na part sa pagiging pulitiko, ang magserbisyo at personal na makita ang pinagseserbisyuhan mo.” [This is the best part of being a politician, to do your duties as a public servant and connect with the people.]

Preparations of the province in times of disaster were initiated by the heads of PDRRMO and PSWDO, Angie Blanco and Elizabeth Baybayan, respectively.

It can be recalled in their interviews at RW 95.1 FM, via Pampanga Kaluguran Daka, a radio program of the provincial government hosted by Joel Mapiles – they bared that Pampanga is always ready for whatever calamities or disasters may occur. This was assured by Pampanga Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda.

PDRRMO Head Blanco said that her heart for the public will always remain steadfast – rain or shine.

The coordination between PDRRMO, PSWDO and C/MDRRMOs has been consistent ever since they were established. Reports, rescue and rehabilitation in times of calamities have been regular.

Mayor Guinto, thanked the provincial government for their efforts to extend help amidst the bad weather.

The younger Pineda has been always leading the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) in times of disasters and calamities, whether inside or outside the province. -Leah Isidro De Fiesta
