VG Delta Elected President of CL Young Legislators Movement

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has been elected as the president of the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) in Central Luzon.

Vice Gov. Pineda who is also the president of NMYL Pampanga has been chosen to lead the region’s young legislators after showing dedication to help local legislators especially neophyte and young officials to become effective law makers.

He also showed good stand in leading the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Pampanga in the enactment of important codes, resolutions and ordinances.

The newly elected President of NMYL Central Luzon vowed to be an instrument in uniting local legislator in the regionand in empowering them through capability building program and sharing of legislative agenda.

Director Myrvi Fabia of the Department of Interior and Local Government Pampanga said young legislators play a pivotal role in local governance since they possess the idealism, energy and talents to stay in the mainstream of public service for next ten years or more.

“There is a need to unite and develop young legislators to develop committed, strong, and principled leaders among youth legislators. They are visionary who are significant in promoting effective governance,” said Fabia.

The National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) is a 7,000 strong league of elected young lawmakers, Vice Governors, Vice Mayors, Provincial Board Members, City and Municipal Councilors, Sangguniang Kabataan and Association of Barangay Captains Federation Presidents aged 35 years old and below.
