CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Sto Tomas (UST) with Masters in Clinical Audiology Program conducted Ear Screening Awareness and orientation on handling proper care for the benefit of hearing impaired Cabalens.
This activity held the other day at Benigno Aquino Hall, Capitol Compound, this city, coincided the World Hearing Day celebrated every third day of March.
It benefited at least 49 patients and some of them are Capitol employees who were given referrals for further clarifications and medications and given tips on how to avoid infections.
Dianne Martinez, a UST audiologist said the screening was facilitated by UST doctors with the help of the nurses from the 10 district hospitals of the province.
Martinez said the nurses were trained on “Ear and Hearing Health Care Technology Course” which they could use in the campaign program.
The Ear and hearing health care is a project of the Provincial Health Office led by Dr. Marcelo Jaochico, provincial health officer.
