CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The Provincial Tourism Office called all tourism officers and in-house parish tourist guides in the 19 municipalities and three cities of Pampanga to undergo a three-day training and seminar.
The participants of the seminar and training are asked to present and promote the landmarks and cuisine for which their town and city are known.
Ms Mary Hildawan who is an accredited speaker of the Department of Tourism conducted the training for the in-house tourist guides and municipal tourism officers.
“The Provincial Government wants our tourism officers to have a comprehensive training, gain more knowledge in the tourism industry,” said Arwin Lingat, Provincial tourism officer.
According to Lingat, the improvement on the performance of the municipal tourism officers and the local tourist guides may result in the increase of tourist in Pampanga.
He added, “the training also focuses on how the participants promote the heritage spots especially the century-old churches since those are some the pride of the province of Pampanga.”
The seminar being held in Benigno Hall inside the Capitol compound started from May 6 until today, May 9.
