CLARK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, MABALACAT – Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda vowed to provide additional manpower to the Bureau of Quarantine of Clark International Airport (CIA) to ensure and keep Pampanga free from the entry of the 2019 Novel Corona Virus or 2019-nCoV.

This came as Governor Delta called for an emergency meeting on Friday with the Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation and Bureau of Quarantine at CIA to discuss current security measures against 2019-nCoV.

Governor Delta said “Nag-usap na kami ng DOH [Department of Health] kanina, so we know na kulang kayo sa manpower… ‘Yun ang primary concern namin.”

“That’s why we’re here po to send doctors and nurses who will monitor 24-hour operations, but we’ll still wait for your command,” the governor added.

Dr. Jay Rivera is the designated team leader of the group of doctors and nurses trained by Jose B.Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBLMRH) formed by the governor.

Dr. Rivera said that right now, their nurses are currently undergoing training on how to properly handle facilities intended for suspected passengers.

The governor also offered to provide a 40-foot aluminum container van which will serve as the holding isolation facility should there be suspected passengers carrying the virus in the airport.

Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo also pledged that the city government will provide CIA two ambulance vehicles with drivers.

Bureau of Quarantine Medical Officer Vicente Zaldivar said they welcome any support from the local government units in their effort to control the entry of 2019-NCoV in the airport.

LIPAD Chief Executive Officer Bi Yong Chungunco also expressed their gratitude to Governor Pineda for giving all kinds of assistance.

As of writing, no suspected cases of 2019-nCoV have been reported in Central Luzon.
