LUBAO – To stamp the friendship between Taiwan and Pampanga province, Taiwan Rep. Gary Song Huann Lin and eighteen Taiwanese investors vowed to bring more investments in Pampanga in terms of agriculture, fisheries, construction, renewable energy, manufacturing and other industries.
This was announced by Rep. Lin during the meeting yesterday at Pradera Verde in Barangay Prado Siongco here to officially seal strong partnership with the local officials of the provincial government led by Governor Lilia G. Pineda.
Some of the Taiwanese investors present who joined Lin are Allan Lin, President of Taiwan Association, Inc.; Willy Chua and Hazel De Las Alas of TECO Industrial Park; Feng-in Hong of Formosa Heavy Industries Corporation; C.T. Wang of Highlander Orchids; Billy Huang of Fil-Chi Love & Care Foundation; Tayson Hsieh of Atlas Nutrition; Johnny Lu of Green Era Biotech Corporation; Jack Lin of Grobest Feeds Philippines; Simon Su, Bernado Angeles, Jr. and Kelly Huang of Sung Yueh Construction Corporation; and Harrison Lan, Director of Taiwan Trade Center.
All investors vowed to pursue and expand their businesses to generate more jobs and more investments in the province.
The Taiwan Representative said the influx of investments shows the conduciveness of Pampanga in housing some of the biggest businesses from Taiwan.
“Geographically, it is strategically located in Central Luzon. It is very near in Metro Manila. Pampanga has very good access internationally with its Clark International Airport,” he said.
The representative added that they are also eyeing to put up free digital education to further equip the skills especially of the Kapampangan work force.
Lin also praised the “promising” Kapampangans and its partnership with Taiwan and pointed some similarities of the two people.
“Your people are very talented, fluent in English, hardworking, very friendly and optimistic, similar with us. In fact, there are more than 3,000 Kapampangan workers in Taiwan,” he added.
The governor thanked Lin and the Taiwanese investors for choosing Pampanga as their site for their investments.
She also said that Taiwan is always welcome to invest in the province and in return, Pampanga government is always ready to assist for good partnership.
Former President, now 2nd District Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo also thanked the Taiwanese for their good friendship and hopes to further enhance the connection for the development of Pampanga and Taiwan.
“I hope the friendship will blossom some more into good investments, good trade, and good jobs for the people of Pampanga,” she said.
The Taiwan business delegation was welcomed by Governor Pineda, Congresswoman Arroyo, members of the provincial board and Capitol department heads at Pradera Verde, Prado Siongco here.
Some of the Taiwanese firms who are willing to invest and expand their businesses in Pampanga are TECO Industrial Park, Formosa Heavy Industries Corporation, Highlander Orchids, Atlas Nutrition, Green Era Biotech Corporation, Grobest Feeds, Sung Yueh Construction Corporation, among others.
