Nakikiramay po ako sa mga kapamilya, kaibigan at kabaryo ni Kapitan Alvin Mendoza ng Barangay Alasas sa City of San Fernando. I strongly condemn the senseless killing on Mendoza nine days before the May 9, 2022 elections, where he is running as a councilor . I learned he was shot as he drove for his family at past 6 a.m. on Saturday in the vicinity of a residential subdivision.
I thanked God that members of his family are safe. I have asked the Philippine National Police (PNP), through PD Col. Alvin Consolacion, to investigate the killing.
The investigation should conclude with the mastermind and killers identified and charged. I am deeply concerned this happened after still unidentified assassins killed Barangay Captain Rainer “Balot” Asban of Sto. Niño in Guagua town last January in a gasoline station there.
Former Barangay Concepcion Capt. Rogelio “Jonjon” Salvador, candidate for councilor in San Simon town, was killed in an ambush in November 2021. The attack also killed his driver-cousin Joel Salvador and friend Arnel Caparas.
