CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan headed by newly-installed Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda confirmed on Thursday, July 3, the appointment of Atty. Charlie Chua and Atty. Gerome Tubig as the new Provincial Administrator and Legal Officer of the Provincial Government of Pampanga respectively.
During her inaugural session as the new presiding officer of the Provincial Board, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda said that the board members present in Thursday’s session acknowledged the merits of Chua and Tubig’s credentials in replacing the vacated positions by former provincial administrator Atty. Andres Jun Pangilinan Jr. and provincial legal officer Atty. Cecil Andin.
The 49-year-old Chua admitted that he has a “big shoe” to fill in being appointed as the alter ego of the governor and continuing the accomplishments and services of his predecessor.
Though challenged to follow the 9- year stint of Pangilinan, Chua is positive to effectively deliver the same kind of service Pangilinan has offered to the people.
“Mahiram man ifill in ang posisyong iniwan ni Atty. Pangilinan. Magsisikap pa rin ako na gawing tama ang aking tungkulin. Ako ang magsisilbing tulay ng pambatasan sa ehekutibo upang mas maging epektibo ang mga programa ng ating Gobernador,” Chua shared.
On the other hand, Tubig also vowed to dedicate his time in providing legal assistance and support to the provincial governments’ legal matters and transactions.
“Makakaasa po kayo sa aking suporta, para mas mapadali ang trabaho ng ating gobernador. Magtutulungan kami ni Atty. Chua, upang mas lalo pang mapabilis ang mga transaksyon ng Kaptilyo at mapaganda pa ang mga serbisyo nito,” Tubig mentioned.
Vice Governor Nanay, meanwhile thanked Atty. Jun Pangilinan, former Provincial Administrator and now Chief of Staff to the Vice- Governor, and other department heads for the unwavering service they showed during her 9- year term in office as Governor of the province.
Vice Governor Nanay, also encouraged all officials, both new and incumbent, to work as a family in bringing Pampanga towards greater heights.
Chua and Tubig are both Bachelor of Law graduates of San Sebastian College and San Beda College of Law respectively.
Prior to his appointment, Chua served as Executive Assistant of then Vice Governor Dennis Pineda from July 1, 2013, until June 30, 2019, before his appointment as provincial administrator.
While, Tubig is a former Barangay Captain of San Vicente, Macabebe from November 2007 to December 2018 and President of the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas, Pampanga Chapter from December 2013 to July 2018. He also served as an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan from December 2007 to January 2011; December 2013 to July 2018.#
