CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Sleeping Children Around the World Organization (SCAW) distributed 5000 sleeping kits and school supplies to six towns and cities in Pampanga as part of their annual outreach program.
SCAW, a non-government organization based in Toronto, Canada kicked off their outreach programs with a courtesy call to Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda yesterday here.
The SCAW is a foundation that gathers funds from all over the world in order to purchase sleeping kits to be given to indigent children aged 7-12 years.
According to Dr. Juan Torres, Jr., chair of SCAW Philippines and University of Santo Tomas Hospital physician, they aim to distribute these kits to all of Luzon.
“We will distribute these kits to Bacolor, Lubao, Mabalacat City, Angeles City, Porac, and Magalang, together with school supplies and other necessities. We also distribute these kits to other provinces all over Luzon,” Torres added.
He also said that every donation amounts to 35 Canadian dollars and are spent solely in purchasing kits.
“We don’t charge for administrative services and others. The 35 Canadian dollars are 100% spent in buying sleeping kits and school supplies,” he added.
