CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito lauded the health services of the province under Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda’s helm, as well as the hard work of the newly elected 4,040 barangay officials here.
“Kaya ang Pampanga kina-iinggitan, dahil hindi napapabayaan ng inyong Governor ang mga hospitals at lalo na ang mga serbisyo para sa kalusugan ng mga mamamayan,” Ejercito said during the Barangay Officials’ Summit 2018 held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center (BZGCC) here.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte it was learned, is eyeing for the speedy passage of the bill on “Universal Health Care,’ which will ensure adequate health services to all Filipinos.
For the Senator, this is specifically beneficial for the marginalized Filipinos who cannot be reached by the government’s health services.
Moreover, this will automatically include them under Philhealth.
Ejercito also believed as well that through the passage of this bill, it will mean a lot for the Filipino families to improve their quality of life.
The senator also added that this will be an anti-poverty drive, ensuring good health for the Filipinos.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development
Meanwhile, the Senator is also swiftly urging the passage of ‘Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’ bill which aims to eliminate the problems of overcrowding, unlocking land for human settlements, lack of an efficient transport system and the rising number of squatter families.
For the Senate Committee on urban planning, housing and resettlement, this seeks to create a new department to consolidate the eight government agencies to focus on one sector.
According to the Senator, in creating this department, it will not just build houses but also ensure there are roofs under the heads of families. –Leah Isidro De Fiesta
