CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government of Pampanga has generated a total of 1.62 billion in the quarry industry.
Based on the records from the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) the province has collected P119,385,000 in 2010; 238,380,000 in 2011; P292,017,500 in 2012; P283,902,500 in 2013; P343,160,000 in 2014 and P225,620,000 from January to August this year.
The province also collected P82,747,500 from the weighing scale fees, 25,893,905 from the accreditation of motor vehicles; and P4,276,399.79 from the quarry sand and gravel fees.
Gov. Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda recently expressed her desire to the quarry operators and the people behind PGENRO and Kapampangan a Lulugud at Matapat (KALAM) to collect a total of P2 billion in the quarry industry before her term ends in 2016.
PGENRO head Engr. Arthur Punsalan said through the cooperation of quarry stakeholders, the challenge of governor Pineda could be met.
