CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The total quarry collection of the province has climbed to more than P1-billion as of March 10, Engr Arthur Punsalan, head of the provincial environment and natural resources office (PENRO) announced yesterday.
“We are very much happy and proud of what the provincial government, under the leadership of our governor, Nanay Baby Pineda, has achieved with P1,000,485,000 quarry collection to be exact,” said Punsalan.
According to Punsalan, this achievement of surpassing the accomplishment on quarry collection of the past administrations and reaching the target they set created a huge impact on the Provincial Government down to the municipalities and barangays.
“This accomplishment is very vital. This is an indication of how Governor Pineda runs the government through transparency, good and participative governance. This is only the result of the participation of the different stakeholders, the mayors and the local officials, quarry trackers and the KALAM (Kapampangan A Lulugud at Matapat) checkers with the Provincial Government,” he added.
The PENRO vowed that they will continue their tireless effort to maintain and even exceed what they have accomplished under the Pineda Administration.
“Personally, I felt very happy especially when I saw Governor Pineda’s reaction when we reported this to her. However, our work does not end after reaching P1 billion. This only inspired us to continue, maintain and sustain what we have started and gain more success in the remaining years of Governor Pineda’s term,” said Punsalan.
The PENR Officer also revealed that after reaching its target, Governor Pineda set a new challenge on quarry collection.
“Governor Pineda told me that she wants the Quarry Collection to reach atleast P1.6 billion at the end of her second term which is until 2016. We still have time so hopefully, we will be able to get that as well,” disclosed Punsalan.
