CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The total Philhealth enrollees in Pampanga has reached a total of 157, 290 Kapampangan families, sponsored by the Department of Social Welfare and Development office (DSWD) under the National Household Targeting System- Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR).
Elizabeth Baybayan, provincial social welfare and development officer (PSWDO) said DSWD Central Luzon has identified beneficiaries based on the survey conducted last year.
She explained that the recipients of the program are those proven to be poorest of the poor families in need of the assistance of the government to improve the quality of their lives.
“In 2013 the NHTS-PR recipients of Philhealth in Pampanga were 45,339 families and for this year it reached 157, 290 including Angeles City. This means more Cabalen will be prioritized in every program of the government,” said Baybayan.
Based on data, Philhealth enrollment under NHTS-PR in first district is 25,017; second district, 38,316; third district, 36,372 and fourth district, 57, 585.
Gov. Lilia Pineda said this development is also in line with the health programs of the provincial government.
PSWDO’s record shows that the Pineda administration sponsored Philhealth enrollment of 22, 216 Kapampangans in 2010- 2012, amounting to P29.6 million and an additional 6,412 beneficiaries in 2013.
Further, the governor said the 10 district hospitals and the provincial hospital are ready to serve them once they decided to use their privileges as Philhealth members.
