FLORIDABLANCA, Pampanga – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) together with the provincial government headed by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda distributed members’ data records (MDRs) to 5,679 residents of Floridablanca, this Friday.
The activity was graced by 2nd district board members Arthur Salalila, Anthony Joseph Torres, Salvador Dimson Jr, Mayor Eduardo Guerrero, other local officials and provincial capitol department heads.
The PhilHealth members were identified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the National Household Targeting System or NHTS and the Philhealth payment was shouldered by the Department of Health (DOH) under the Universal Health Care program of the national government.
Governor Pineda assured the beneficiaries under the NHTS, they will not pay even a single centavo in government run hospitals because of the “no balance billing” policy designed for them.
“If you have problems with your health, do not be afraid to go to the nearest district hospitals for your check- up,” said the governor.
The governor instructed the beneficiaries to report immediately the provincial or district hospitals’ personnel who will ask them to pay for the hospital bills.
Officers from the PhilHealth also discussed the “Tamang Serbisyo para sa Kalusugan ng Pamilya” (Tsekap), wherein indigent families may consult a primary care doctor and avail themselves of “preventive and promotive” services to keep themselves healthy.
Tsekap is an important part of multi-sector advocacy campaign, “Alaga Ka para sa Maayos na Buhay” (Alaga Ka).
