CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A showcase of Kapampangan festivities tagged as Pamamupul Festival marked the opening of the week-long activities for the 441st Aldo ning Kapampangan.
Thirteen municipalities and one City joined the street dancing in their grand costumes and moves that exhibit their town festival.
Provincial Tourism Officer Arwin Lingat said this is the first time that the provincial government has brought together all festival traditions in the province under one celebration.
“This is a long dream of the provincial tourism office to bring together all festivals that materialized under the leadership of Gov. Lilia Pineda,” said Lingat
He noted that many Filipinos and even Kapampangan knew the major traditions in each municipality and province but not all of them have witnessed the actual activities.
“Through the Pamamupul Festival, the cabalen and tourists will have the first hand experience of seeing our traditions at the same time,” he stated.
He noted that the parade of festivals showcased the existing good relationship between the province and the local government units that emphasized this year celebration’s theme “Abe-abe, Pagmasusian Panyulung ning Kapampangan”.
Festivals that highlighted the event were; Caragan (Mabalacat), Kamaru (Magalang), Bagyus (Angeles City), Fiesta San Jose (Floridablanca), Mangga (Arayat), San Nicolas (Mexico), Sampaguita (Lubao), Binulo (Porac), Duman (Sta. Rita), Kuraldal (Sasmuan), Sun-Sea-Moon (San Simon), Makatapak (Bacolor), at Ibon-Ebon (Candaba).
