CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—In the light of the success of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in helping out those who seek their help, the provincial social team never ceases to extend assistance to people in need whether Kapampangan or not.
After the successful retrieval of the missing boy from Calulut, City of San Fernando who was found in Subic, Zambales, PSWDO is currently helping Mira Manginay from Masbate, a minor who was accused of being an accomplice in a robbery inside her employer’s house here in Pampanga.
According to Jill Matienzo of PSWDO, their office provided food assistance, goods, cash, legal assistance and a private lawyer for Manginay and her family as per Pineda’s advice.
The family of the Manginay extended their thanks to Governor Lilia Pineda for the assistance that they have received through PSWDO.
“I never expected this much help from your office since we are not really from here but you helped us anyway, and for that we thank Governor Pineda and PSWDO,” said Gemma Dawis, the minor’s guardian.
Aside from this, Governor Pineda also ordered PSWD Officer Elizabeth Baybayan to provide help for the family of a murdered farm worker Arayat town.
It can be remembered that the family of Wilhelm Alarba approached Governor Pineda to seek a faster action on the murder case.
According to Baybayan, Pineda wanted the family of the slain farmer to be provided with food assistance as well as housing and scholarship grants for Alarba’s children.
Pineda instructed their office to visit the family’s house in Arayat to find out what other assistance should be provided, Baybayan added.
“This is what Nanay Gov really wants, helping the less fortunate and tries to make their lives better. That is why the PSWDO dedicates itself to fulfill this mission and give a helping hand to those who need it,” said Baybayan.
For this reason, PSWDO under the leadership of Baybayan received numerous recognitions from DSWD-III, municipalities of the province and Pampanga Archdiocesan Migrant’s Desk.
“The recognitions we receive reflects the whole Capitol’s dedication to provide help to our Cabalen,” disclosed Baybayan.
