CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- The provincial government of Pampanga led by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda shared its ‘best practices’ with some officials from the provincial government of La Union who visited the province for a benchmarking activity.
On behalf of Governor Delta, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda welcomed the officials who visited the province in ceremonies held at the Legislative Building Session Hall on Thursday, February 9.
During the said visit, officials from Pampanga shared the existing consignment and payment procedures practiced by the provincial government which emerged during the term of then Governor and now Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda.
Dr. Zenon Ponce, provincial health officer, said that all medicines and hospital supplies consigned at the provincial hospital in Guagua town and ten (10) other district hospitals across the province undergo strict quality measures and policies to ensure the safety of the people.
It was also revealed that a P300 M budget is allocated every year to subsidize the operational expenses of the 11 government hospitals.
“Continuous po ang nagsusuplay po ng medicines at medical supplies po ng mga consignors natin sa mga ospital. Especially sa emergency room, wards, OPD rooms at patients po natin. May process po tayo diyan, may mga MOA po tayo, may mga policies po tayong sinusunod na sinusundan din po ng mga consignors natin. Dapat ang mga gamot po nila ay quality at FDA approved, at may Certificate of Product Registration (CPR),” said Ponce.
Vice Governor Nanay also shared other health programs of the provincial government like medical and dental missions implemented by Capitol through the “Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Program,” which helped cure thousands of sick Kapampangans.
“Dito sa province, meron kaming preventive healthcare ordinance. May mga medical missions kami. Kinukuhanan namin ng blood test and inassess namin yung mga tao para mahanap namin kung sino ang mga may sakit para magamot sila. Maganda maging preventive na din kayo,” the vice governor said.
Agnes Cargamento, provincial administrator of La Union PG, meanwhile thanked the provincial government for spearheading the benchmarking activity to further help improve their health services in La Union.
“We looked at other din, accessible pero mas nakakalayo na ang Pampanga in terms of the consignment process. We would like to thank the Provincial Government headed by the Governor and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, and of course the consignment committee for accommodating us. Maganda po yung discussions, maganda po yung learnings. It is more than what we came here for kasi may mayroon ding mga inputs na binigay sa atin si Vice Governor,” Cargamento shared.
Each official of La Union received a parol lamp from the provincial government of Pampanga as a token of appreciation for their visit. After the activity in Capitol, the benchmarking activity was concluded by a site-visit at Diosdado P Macapagal Memorial Hospital (DPMMH) and Escolastica Romero District Hospital.
Also present during the benchmarking activity were 1st District Board Member Win-win Garbo, 3rd District Board Member Atty. Ananias Canlas Jr., Provincial Administrator Atty. Charlie Chua, and provincial capitol department heads.
