Pasay City, Metro Manila — The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) ranked Pampanga third among the national top-performing provinces with highest locally-sourced revenues (LSR) for fiscal year 2021.
The province generated a total of ₱1,447,410,000 LSR, which equates to 103.7% collection efficiency (CE), exceeding its ₱1,396,420,000 target and placing fifth in CE.
On behalf of Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, special assistant to the governor, Angelina Blanco, personally received the recognition with provincial treasurer, Pia Magdalena Quibal, during the awarding ceremony held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on Wednesday.
“Nakuha natin ito, because of our provincial officials—the governor, the vice governor, the members of the sangguniang panlalawigan, and the Capitol employees, especially the office of the treasurer and the office of the assessor. Sa tulong nila, marami tayong naipasok na pera from locally-sourced revenues,” said Blanco.
She also expressed her gratitude to Kapampangans for their support and compliance with the tax system of the province.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa ating mga Cabalen for being efficient in paying their taxes, ‘yung pong taxes na ibinabayad ninyo sa provincial government, in return po, ibinabalik namin sa inyo in the form of basic services, medical and educational assistance, and infrastructure, like roads, bridges, schools, and health facilities. Makaaasa po kayo na ang mga revenues na nakukuha ng probinsiya ay maibabalik po para sa kapakanan ng mga Kapampangan,” she said.
Joining Pampanga in the top 10 provinces with highest LSR are Rizal, Bulacan, Quezon, Bataan, Batangas, Iloilo, Cavite, Bukidnon, and Cebu.
On the other hand, Pampanga placed fifth in the collection efficiency of LSR, following Cebu, Quirino, Aklan, and Capiz.
The awarding ceremony coincided with the 35th anniversary celebration of the BLGF, with the theme: “Driving LGUs Toward Digital Transformation and Innovation.”
