CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) held its 11th Inaugural session led by Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and all members of the provincial board re-affirming their commitment to pass legislative measures, supporting the 3-year development agenda of Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda.
Held at New Legislative Building on Monday, the inaugural session was also attended by the graduating members of the Sanggunian, department heads, Capitol employees and other guests.
Tribute to Former Board Members
The current provincial board has recognized and cited the commitment to public service of the four three-termed board members – 1st District Board Member Cherry Manalo, 2nd District Board Member Anthony Joseph Torres, 3rd District Board Members Rosve Henson and Dinan Labung for their invaluable contributions in drafting and enacting local legislations, which helped improved the quality of life of the Kapampangans.
They were succeeded by neophyte board members Win-Win Garbo (1st District), Sajid Khan Eusoof (2nd District), Mica Gonzales and Lucky Labung (3rd District).
Vice Governor Nanay underscored the vital role of the legislative body in the fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities of the provincial government to the people.
She said, “I will stay committed and true to the promises I have made with the people and translate them into actions that would further promote the well-being of the Kapampangan into governance that is reliable, decent, trustworthy, and generous.”
The vice governor believes that through the help of the new members of the provincial board, more projects and programs will be created for the benefit of all Kapampangans.
The vice governor is optimistic that through unity, collaboration, and cooperation, all the goals of the executive will be transformed into reality.
“I encourage you, just as I challenge you to work together towards the achievement of the missions, visions, and objectives of the provincial government,” she added.
The provincial board has also approved that their first regular session will be held on Monday, July 18.
