CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) of the provincial government of Pampanga held a kick-off ceremony for the 2022 National Disaster Resilience Month at the Capitol Grounds on Monday, July 4.
Angelina Blanco, provincial disaster risk reduction and management officer, said that “Pampanga is one with the national government in initiating DRRM efforts geared towards attaining disaster resiliency.”
“We are very fortunate because we are relatively more capacitated and prepared than other LGUs when it comes to Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. Let us take this more of a challenge than a privelege. Ituloy taya pu ing pamisaupan tamu keni king kekatamung probinsya king pamanimuna ng Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda at Vice Gov. During the ceremony, each of the five (5) Capitol employees, who have correctly answered trivia questions, received a Go Bag—an emergency-preparedness bag in which they could store essential items in advance in case of natural disasters that they may need to evacuate your home.
“Napakahalaga ng Go Bag, because everyone should always be prepared to evacuate, especially kung dumating ang ‘the big one,’” Blanco said.
Each Go Bag contains hygiene kit, face shields, flashlight, whistle, facemasks, bottled water, canned goods, and rice.
Blanco also announced the calendar of activities for the month-long celebration, which include the DRRM Summit for the Youth, July 4; the Mobile Photography and Video-Making Contest, July 4-11; the DRR-CCA Film-Viewing for Provincial Hospital and Capitol Employees, July 19-21; the Distribution of IEC Booklets for Persons with Disability, 3rd week of July; the NDRM Festival: DRR-CCA Exhibit and Dynamic Display of PDRRMO Preparedness and Rescue Capacity, July 20-22; and the 1st Pampanga First Aid and Basic Life Support Olympics, July 27.
