CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Province of Pampanga named as first placer in Central Luzon as far as Day Care Centers accreditation is concerned besting the other six provinces in the region.
Regional Director Adelina Apostol of th Department of Social Welfare and Development Office in Central Luzon awarded the provincial government under the leadership of Gov. Lilia Pineda for generating the highest percentage of accredited day care centers.
Elizabeth Baybayan, provincial social welfare and development officer said before the Pineda Administration, the province recorded zero accredited day care center.
“Accreditation of day care centers is a very rigid and tedious process. There are so many requirements. We have to upgrade facilities and trained day care workers to abide with the new assessment tools of DSWD,” she said.
Baybayan attributed the accomplishment to the initiatives and support of Gov. Pineda in every proposal of PSWDO to improve day care centers in the province.
The province has 629 day care centers and 16 percent of which are already accredited with DSWD.
“Gov. Pineda is very supportive when it comes to programs for child development. Day care centers in the province are no longer a bare- four-corner room. The provincial government also funded the trainings of day care workers,” said Baybayan.
