Pampanga furniture manufacturers promote local industry through ONE PAMPANGA

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The members of the Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation Inc (PFIF) paid courtesy call yesterday to Governor Lilia Pineda and presented the latter a collaboration of their intricate design on home décor and promoting the province of Pampanga in totality with the magazine One Pampanga.

One Pampanga features some of the renowned furniture manufacturers in Pampanga and the stories behind their success that made them Pampanga’s pride.

According to their president Philip Repato, what the PFIF wanted to is to place Pampanga in the map alongside with other world-class furniture and home décor manufacturers here and abroad.

“It’s sad that Kapampangan furniture makers have such great talent and when people see their work, the question always goes like ‘Is this from Cebu?’ This magazine is a great opportunity to introduce and promote Pampanga-made furnitures,” said Repato.

Judith Manarang, Vice President of PFIF, mentioned “What’s good about this magazine is that aside from the furnitures and Kapampangan furniture manufacturers, we also tried to devote parts of the magazine to Kapampangan culture and lifestyle, food, and historical landmarks in the province. Thus, the title One Pampanga.

According to her, Governor Lilia Pineda supported their magazine and their motive of promoting the province’s talented craftsmen, rich culture and delicacies.

“Governor Pineda has supported us from the very start of this magazine that is why we are here to personally thank her and show her the result of our efforts,” Manarang added.

PFIF is eyeing to publish One Pampanga for mass production within the first quarter of the year.

In connection to this, Repato revealed about the Philippine International Furniture Show at the Mall of Asia SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on March 14-17.

The furniture show aims to feature some of the creations of the famous names in the local and international furniture industry.

“PFIF is one of the organizers of this event and we really wanted Governor Pineda to grace us with her presence during the opening of the exhibit. We wanted her vision and support for the local craftsmen to encourage others to support the industry,” said Repato.
