Pampanga day is a Special Non-Working Holiday

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO-The province will be marking its 441st Aldo ning Kapampangan this December 11, declared as special non-working holiday under the virtue of Proclamation no. 2226 of late President Ferdinand Marcos.

The proclamation was signed in December 11, 1982 since then all the towns except Angeles City were given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the celebration.

Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda said she wants every Kapampangan to join in the commemoration of the founding anniversary of Pampanga, being the oldest province in the country.

Further, most of the activities under the Aldo ning Kapampangan requested the participation of every municipalities and cities so it is very convenient for them to join the celebration.

Since Pampanga Day falls on a Tuesday based on Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) if unworked it is no pay unless there is a favorable company policy, practice or collective bargaining agreement (CBA) granting payment of wages on special days. If worked the first eight hours plus thirty percent of the daily rate of one hundred percent if excess of eight hours and addition of 30 percent of hourly rate on said day. Once fell on the employee’s rest day and if worked the first 8 hours plus 50 percent of the daily rate.
