Pampanga cops still on alert after polls

LUBAO, Pampanga –Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde, police provincial officer-in-charge, reminded all chiefs of police to remain vigilant especially against election violence involving fanatic supporters of political rivals.

During the command conference here, Albayalde stressed to the chiefs of police to remain focused and alert so as not to be caught off-guard with the possible post-election violence that may arise in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

“It is not yet time to relax. The possibility of post election violence is very evident these fast few days,” Albayalde said.
The provincial director admitted that they are anticipating untoward incidents from erring supporters even without the knowledge of the candidates.

“After election hindi nawawala yung pikunan at bullying kaya malaki ang possibility ng sakitan sa pagitan ng mga supporters ng mga kandidato,” he said.
All local police from municipalities and cities were instructed to continue conducting check points at least four times a day especially in high risk areas for the possibility of political vendetta.

Police Inspector Ohmar Bognot, head of the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT), reminded checkpoint teams to conduct inspection in areas where they are visible and added that they have to wear their proper uniform.

“Election gun ban is until June 12. Let us keep all check points active and continue observing and apprehending suspicious people,” he said.
