Pampanga Capitol donates patrol vehicles to PNP

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government of Pampanga led by Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda turned over the other day at least 4 police patrol vehicles to Police Regional Office 3 in support to the war on drugs and other criminalities in Central Luzon.

The donated patrol vehicles will be used by the PMF 2nd Division, Aviation Security, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), and Special Weapon and Tactics unit (SWAT).

Gov. Pineda lauded the exerted efforts and resources of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in improving their performance against all forms criminality despite the lack of personnel and equipment.

It was learned that the ratio of police officer to the population is one officer for every 500 people which is far from the standard ratio of one for every 300 civilian.

Furthermore, the PNP is having a hard time in the procurement of equipment because 88 to 90 percent of the PNP budget goes to personnel services.

The lady governor said PNP needs the support of all the local government units (LGUs) in order to achieve peaceful and well-protected communities.

“Central Luzon is one of the most peaceful regions in the Philippines. Thanks to our PNP. We are grateful of your service to us. The provincial government is willing to extend support for your needs. May these new vehicles strengthen you in your campaign against drugs and criminality,” the governor said in her speech.

Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, police regional director thanked the provincial government for the assistance it has extended not only for the PNP stations in Pampanga but for the whole of Central Luzon.

“The time that we have now is not enough to enumerate all the assistance we received from Gov. Pineda. If all leaders will emulate your good deeds, I think PNP can serve better and more efficient,” Dir. Corpus said.

Aside from the patrol vehicles, Gov. Pineda also gave financial assistance to the families of police officers who died in the line of duties.
