Orphans and Underprivileged Kids, Senior Citizens Enjoy Christmas Treats

With only a few days to go before Christmas Day, orphans, neglected and abused kids including indigent senior citizens in Pampanga recently benefited from the Pamaskong Handog event sponsored by three private organizations in the province.

Close to 100 children from the Reception Study Center for Children (RSCC) in Lubao town, Duyan ni Maria in Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City and Children’s Joy Foundation in barangay San Jose, City of San Fernando enjoyed the games, food, goodies and other Christmas treats provided them by the RPNaguit Foundation, THIMS-Genetic Computer Institute and the Las Palmas Travel Tours.

The event is one of the charity works of the owners and management of the three private entities as they want to give back to and share with the less fortunate children the blessings they have been receiving for the past two decades.

Narcisa Cubian, RSCC social worker who brought along 45 children aged two and a half to 13 years old to the event, expressed her gratitude to the sponsoring institutions for their generosity as she added that the RSCC has been a regular recipient of their material goods donations and financial assistance for more than ten years now.

She said that, at present, the RSCC houses 78 abandoned, neglected and abused children and donations of any kind from concerned individuals and groups are very much welcome.

Duyan ni Maria Educator Mary Ann Justiniano said that the event provided the appropriate venue for the children from various institutions to mingle and socialize with each other.

“We really appreciate the sponsors for reaching out and sharing their time, resources and blessings with those who need it most, especially our wards who were abandoned by their parents.”

Antonette, a 15 year-old resident of the institution, has a kidney problem and is in dire need of medical treatment.

Also among the beneficiaries of the said Pamaskong Handog event were a total of 300 indigent senior citizens from various barangays of Sto. Tomas town who received a bagful of food items each from the organizers. (Erlinda T. Yutuc, Pampanga PIO)
