Nabuclod Eco-Tourism Plan Gets Green Light

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — All systems are now go in making barangays Nabuclod and Mawacat as ecotourism centers of Floridablanca.

The provincial government, led by Gov. Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda, is willing to spend P3.7-million for initial development in the said areas.

A technical working group will be conferring with the indigenous peoples of the said barangays next week, to get their conformity on the proposed eco-tourism development package that would be stipulated in a joint management agreement, or through a memorandum of agreement, between the provincial capitol and the Aeta communities.

This is also with the conferment of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP).

The proposed agreement will focus on the provision of basic services to all the Aetas – health, education, livelihood trainings, responsible parenthood seminar, proper hygiene; investments and modern upland farming geared toward the upliftment of the Aetas’ living.

The effectivity of the agreement is subject for renewal every five years.
“Titiyakin ko na kahit hindi na ako governor na hindi makakamkam ang lupa ng mga Aetas ng kahit sinong pribadong tao at ng gobyerno,” Pineda said.
