MINALIN, Pampanga – The provincial government through its Management Information System Office (MIS) and Provincial Assessor’s Office (PAO) led the pilot run of Integrated Taxation Management System (iTax) in this town Wednesday.
According to Provincial Assessor Engr. Romeo Dizon, the iTax system aims to transform the province’s current tax collection from a lengthy, tedious, and manual process to an efficient, transparent, and automated system which will greatly benefit the Kapampangan tax payers, particularly in Real Property Tax (RPT).
This town was chosen as the pilot site for its ideal size; Minalin covers a smaller land area thus leaving less room for errors and adjustments for the new system.
Further, this town’s data is now fully encoded following the recently concluded tax mapping operations conducted by the province.
Manuel Mendoza of the PAO presented its features while IT consultant Dave Concepcion led the demonstration of the new iTax system in front of various stakeholders in this town.
Meanwhile, Mayor Arturo Naguit expressed his gratitude to Governor Lilia Pineda, represented by Board Member Ric Yabut in the event, for the launch of this program in their town.
Yabut also cleared, no additional fees will be charged to the tax payers for the implementation of the new iTax system.
“This new system will greatly reduce the time spent in the tax paying process and it only shows that the governor values the time of each tax payer,” Yabut added
