CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – In line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s program to give free and easier access to quality health services, Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go led the inauguration of the third Malasakit Center in Central Luzon here at Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBLMRH).
Go was assisted by Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda, Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda, JBL Director Monserrat Chichioco, Deparment of Health (DoH) Regional Director 3 Dr. Cesar Cassion, Philhealth Regional Director 3 Walter Bacareza, City of San Fernando Mayor Edwin Santiago, Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, 3rd District Congressman Dong Gonzales, Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, JBL department heads, health sector representatives, among others.
Go also commended the Pineda administration’s health projects for Kapampangans, which is a priority of the lady Governor since 2010.
According to Go, the President promised that he will put the government closer to the people especially in health services. The Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop wherein patients will be given services and financial assistance through the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), the Philippine Amusement and Games Corporation (PAGCOR), Department of Health (DoH) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The Malasakit Center in JBL, the 10th in the country, also received P5 millon from the Office of SAP.
Go asked the attendees of the inauguration, particularly Local Government Units (LGUs) officials to disseminate that there is a Malasakit Center here in the province.
Governor Pineda thanked the national government for its full-time support for Pampanga.
For the Governor health is the number one priority, as she always says, “ang malusog na mamamayan ay susi sa malusog na pamayanan.”
Go also added that the formation of Malasakit Centers in the country will be continuous, and that Senior Citizens and Person with Disabilities (PWDs) will be given priority hallways.
The SAP also reiterated that no requirements are needed to avail of health services through the center.
“Wala pong requirements, basta po ikaw ay Pilipino makaka-avail ka rito,” he mentioned. -Leah Isidro De Fiesta
