Korea-Bound Capampangan Workers Assisted by Capitol

Capampangans who pass the Korean Language Test (KLT) given last March 18 will undergo physical and medical examination at a discounted price at two venues in Pampanga through the efforts of the Pampanga Public Employment Services Office (PESO).

This developed when Governor Lilia G. Pineda instructed the PESO to make arrangements with a clinic licensed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to facilitate the medical and physical examination of those who would pass the recent KLT examination.

PESO Head Luningning Vergara said that the results of the test will be out by tomorrow, March 30, so that “iniskedyul namin ang medical exam ng mga pasado sa Linggo, April 1”.

Vergara added that the governor wanted the Capampangan KLT passers to get the help that the provincial government could provide, thus, the arrangement with the POEA-accredited clinic.

Jonathan Lintag, also of the Pampanga PESO, cited the benefits that the KLT passers would get from the arrangement.

“Hindi na kailangan pang lumuwas o pumunta sa malayo ang mga taga-Pampanga dahil dito sa probinsya mismo magko-conduct ng eksaminasyon ang lisensyadong klinika  at ibibigay pa ang serbisyo nila sa mas mababang presyo.”

The conduct of the medical and physical examination is scheduled from eight in the morning to five in the afternoon on April 1 at the following venues: the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in the City of San Fernando and the Lubao Gymnasium.

According to Lintag, this will make it easier for the KLT passers from the four districts of the province to have their examination at a nearby place – the BZGCC for those coming from districts 1, 3, and 4, and the Lubao Gym for those from district 2.

Those who will submit themselves to the medical examination should be at the venue before 8 in the morning and are required to undergo fasting (no food or liquid intake after 12 midnight prior to the procedure).  They should also bring a photo copy of their passport, Lintag added

This is all part of the continuing effort of the provincial government to assist Capampangan overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), Vergara concluded. (Eloisa P. Galang, Pampanga PIO)
