CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Governor Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda is now actively working for the implementation of Integrated Medical Assistance or IMA in every municipality.
The governor, in carrying out her role as a “true-blooded mother” of the province, said IMA is aimed at bringing comprehensive health care for sick Kapampangans who cannot afford hospitalization and exorbitant price of medicines.
Pineda said she wants to see a healthy province with healthy families who are free from the threat of dreaded illnesses, which paralyzes the developments of communities and families.
With this, the governor has urged the more than 500 village chiefs in the 20 municipalities of the province to provide a databank or checklist of health needs and common illnesses of people in their respective communities for the eventual holding of IMA in every town.
“Ang hinihiling ko sa mga kapitan natin na magkaroon ng listahan sa bawat barangay ng mga maysakit, pagsama-samahin yung may pareho-parehong sakit tapos maglaan tayo ng isang araw para bigyan ng solusyon ang problema nila sa kalusugan,” Pineda said.
Recently, the governor, bringing with her at least 10 doctors, already launched her IMA in Candaba and Mexico towns, benefiting more than 1,000 people.
Pineda said she has asked the services of these medical experts in different fields who will serve as consultants and focal persons in various medical missions in the province.
“Siguro ngayon ay wala ng maysakit na itatakbo pa sa hospital dahil maaga pa ay lulunasan na natin ang kanilang problema sa kalusugan sa pamamagitan ng madaliang pagbibigay lunas at pagtukoy sa pinanggagalingan ng sakit,” she said.
The governor has urged the mayors to designate specific venues that will serve as emergency clinics.
In Candaba, the Liga ng Mga Barangay has expressed gratitude to the governor as she personally examined the health needs of every village.
The barangay officials said the good relationship between the officials of the local government and the governor will benefit their constituents particularly with their medical needs.
Mexico Mayor Teddy Tumang has provided the town’s newly built “Mexico Community Hospital” as a venue for the IMA’s medical mission last Saturday.
The mayor expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the governor in initiating the integrated medical assistance for the benefit of his constituents.
Last Saturday, some 150 tuberculosis patients in Lubao town were given simultaneous medical assistance, as the governor vowed to provide them medicines and vitamins for six months.
Yesterday, at least 1,000 patients and visitors met the governor for medical assistance.
“Akasabi miya ing gobernadora, milako na kami problema. (By talking personally to the governor, we are relieved of our problems,” help-seeking patients said.
