City of San Fernando— Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda urged the principals from public schools to assist their ailing teachers and dengvaxia immunized students immunized with dengvaxia vaccine should they get ill.
This was gleaned during the forum on dengue and dengvaxia issue of the school principals with the governor at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here the other day.
During the forum, the governor addressed the health problems of the public school teachers suffering from various illnesses, voiced out by their respective principals.
Governor Pineda told the principals that if they monitor dengvaxia recipient students who suffer due to sickness, immediately bring them to the hospitals, then inform the concerned parents.
“Be alert and vigilant and immediately bring the student to the nearest hospitals if you observe that he or she has the symptoms of dengue or other diseases,” the governor told the principals.
Merla Abion, principal of San Antonio Elementary School in Lubao share that her daughter is suffering from brain tumor. She needs at least P300,000 for surgical operation.
Arlene Mapoy, principal of Dulong Ilog Elementary School in Candaba said she suffers from various illnesses hence, she needs maintenance medicines amounting to P6,000.
The provincial government provided P12,000 for her two months maintenance medicines.
The governor said she knows that teachers with illnesses are highly in need of help for their medicines and hospitalization as she understood that their salaries are intended for the education of their children and other household expenses.
Relative to this, the governor vowed that she will find ways and means with the Sangguniang Panlalawigan so they could provide for their hospitalization and at the same time lessen their hardships.
In fact, the governor since she assumed office in 2010, she worked for the improvement of district and provincial hospitals equipped with modern medical equipment and technologies appropriate and conducive to the health needs of the Kapampangans – be it professionals, employees, laborers, teachers, scavengers, jobless, children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, people from all walks of life, among others.
The governor has also implemented the no balance billing through Philhealth point of care sponsored by the provincial government with the assistance of expert doctors from private leading hospitals in the province and in Metro Manila.
