CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- “Let’s help save lives in this time of calamity.”
Thus, said Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda as she instructed all department heads to mobilize the entire capitol employees to assist in the disaster operations of the province beyond the prescribed eight working hours.
Pineda emphasized that being in the government service means working beyond eight hours and weekdays especially during disasters and emergencies when more manpower is needed to save lives.
“We need more hands to help in rescue operation, monitoring, and relief operation that’s why I’m asking our employees to report to work even at the height of typhoons ” the governor said.
Furthermore, the governor stressed the importance of open communications. She distributed prepaid cards to all coordinators per office to report and monitors the deployment of the more than three thousand employees of capitol.
“I know all of us suffer during disaster but more people are at stake if one of us failed to respond to the call of an emergency situation”, Gov. Pineda stressed.
Amelia Bondoc, provincial human resource management officer (HRMO) said they have activated the disaster preparedness plan of the capitol to avoid stoppage of all government transactions.
Bondoc also said that aside from office works that needed immediate attention, some physically-fit and young men will help in rescue and relief operation while women will be delegated in the action center to help in repacking of relief goods.
“We will notify all capitol employees and departments on their scheduled duty and designation during calamity” Bondoc added.
She furthered that upon the activation of the capitol disaster preparedness plan, employees were asked to report for work during disaster at the action center situated at the former Department of Foreign Affairs office while other capitol employees will report to work at Provincial Engineers Office (PEO) in Sindalan, this city.
