Guv reiterates: All district hospitals free of charge

Governor Lilia Pineda and Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon distributes the Member’s Data Racords of PhilHealth beneficiaries during the Alaga Ka Caravan in Lubao.

LUBAO – Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda reemphasized the No Balance Billing (NBB) Policy of district and provincial hospitals in her address to the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) beneficiaries during the AlagaKa Caravan here.

This came after the Escolastica Romero District Hospital (ERDH) mishap wherein some medical staffs were accused of charging payments from the parents of the deceased 7-month old patient for laboratory tests.

The lady governor encouraged the beneficiaries that they should not be afraid to go to the government hospitals to have their check-ups and treatments and worry about their bills.

She also told the attendees to report to her the medical staff and personnel who will violate the “no balance billing policy”.

“Isumbong ninyo sila kay Nanay Gob, huwag kayong matakot,” she said.

She also bared that the provincial board is filing up a resolution to avoid making the same mistakes experienced at ERDH and to improve the services of every Capitol-handled hospitals.

“Nandiyan ang ating mga board members kasama si Vice-Governor Dennis Pineda para gumawa ng batas para maiwasan na yung mga ganung insidente at ‘di na kayo mag-alangan pumunta sa ating mga ospital,” she said.
