The upgrading and rehabilitation of the said district hospitals are aimed at providing efficient and effective health services to Pampangueños.

The governor said the P30-million building to be constructed in Andres G. Luciano Memorial Hospital will have a 50-bed capacity.

“I want the construction to start immediately and completed within eight months,” the governor ordered.

She expressed her determination to complete the facilities and services of all government hospitals in the province “para ang mga kababayan natin ay di na kailangang lumayo at madaling makakuha ng maayos na kalinga mula sa ating mga pampublikong pagamutan”.

In connection with this, Pineda disclosed that George Samson of the World Medical Relief Foundation shall donate medical equipment to the hospital. Samson has also invited the governor to visit Detroit, Michigan to see the equipment for herself and what the foundation has been doing in the line of providing medical relief to various countries, particularly his home country the Philippines.

Samson, according to the governor, is a recipient of a Most Outstanding Kapampangan Award specifically for the medical relief assistance he has been giving to the country.

After the completion of the P30M building, the governor will pursue the construction of another building which shall house the outpatient and administrative departments of the hospital.

“It shall have a budget of P12M, that is why we need to source out more funds for the construction of the building and the completion of all facilities and equipment.”

The governor has also been seeking the assistance of people who are similarly concerned about the health and welfare of people in the province.

She has gotten the nod of First District Congressman Carmelo F. Lazatin who has reportedly committed some P10M from his Project  Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) for the purpose.

Inauguration of 2-storey building in San Luis District Hospital

In the same vein, the governor acknowledged the efforts of the administration of former Governor Eddie T. Panlilio in initiating the rehabilitation of the said hospital in San Luis town.

San Luis Mayor Venancio Macapagal expressed his gratitude to the governor for the “great help that the hospital brings to the people of San Luis”.

This was echoed by the constituents in their testimonials who affirmed the “good services of the hospital and its personnel”.

Dr. Monica Vicencio, chief of hospital, said they have catered to patients not only from San Luis but also to those from San Simon, Sta. Ana, Candaba and parts of Mexico.

The governor disclosed that she will urge the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) to approve a budget for the construction of an additional building to complete the hospital facilities needed by the community.
