Guv awards P385K educational grants to 63 Aeta scholars

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda distributed yesterday P385,000 financial educational assistance to 63 Aeta scholars held at Capitol grounds.

Specifically, 12 Aeta college students received P10, 000 each while 51 of them were given P5, 000 each.

Elizabeth Baybayan, provincial social welfare and development officer (PSWDO), said aside from the allowances, the Capitol also shouldered the tuition fees of the grantees who are presently enrolled in the different public and private schools in the province.

Reports have it that 12 Aeta scholars are enrolled at Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU); followed by Mary the Queen College with 12 Aeta students; Megabyte College with one; DHVTSU (Porac), 36; and Floridablanca National Agricultural School (FNAS), 2.

The assistance was given during the Flag Raising Ceremonies witnessed by Provincial Administrator Atty. Andres Pangilinan and hundreds of Capitol employees.
