CITY OF SAN FERNANDO–“All children should be in school. Let’s use all possible resources to send these poor children to school and haul out the impoverished from their pitiable predicament.”
Thus, said Governor Lilia Pineda on Wednesday in a sectoral committee on social development pre-organization meeting held at the Executive House of the Provincial Capitol.
Pineda also mentioned the proposed satellite university of DHVTSU in Lubao with a P20 million budget to be erected on a 2 hectare land donated by the governor.
“I urge the establishments of satellite campuses of different universities to alleviate the growing population of state universities like DHVTSU” Pineda said.
She also said that a P10 million budget was already allocated to a satellite campus in Mabalacat where students who live in Barangay Dapdap could have easy access to.
As chairperson on social services, Governor Pineda during the meeting, focused on education and training programs and health of the indigenous groups and the less fortunate in the province.
“I need a mandate from director Santos on what suitable proposals can be implemented within the approved budget to boost the condition of the poor Kapampangans” Pineda said.
The governor also stated the requirement of a personality development seminar for college graduates who are qualified academically but lack of disposition come job interviews.
She also advised the Commission on Higher Education and Department of Education that every state university in the province should provide driving exercise for graduating students.
“Driving skills is now being required as qualification for job applicants. Most of the applicants who do not have driving skills are being turned down” Pineda said.
Also present were members of the Regional Development Council ; DBM3 Assistant Regional Director Rosalie Abesamis; TESDA3 Assistant Regional Director Belinda Labutong; DSWD3Regional Director Dr. Adelina Apostol; CHED3 Regional Director Caridad Abuan; DOLE3 Regional Director Ana Dione; NEDA3 Regional Director and RDC Vice-Chairman, Severino Santos; DOH3 Regional Director Dr. Leonita Gorgolon; DEPED3 Regional Director Isabelita Borres and all department heads of provincial capitol.
