Lubao, Pampanga – Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda reminded recently all medical personnel of the 10 district and 1 provincial hospital to have the compassion and the heart for the poor in serving the people in the province.
In order to provide good services to the people, you should have concern and sympathy for the unfortunate, the governor said.
Governor Pineda has been providing assistance and helping the underprivileged for the last 30 years as a public official.
The governor recently expressed her dismay over the mishandled situation at the Escolastica Romero District Hospital (ERDH) that caused the demise of a seven-month old baby.
Facing the medical staff, the lady governor also warned ill-tempered nurses to immediately resign from their post if they cannot serve and assist the indigents with care.
“If you want to work here (in the hospital) you should be humble and respectful. Yes, they (the poor) are annoying and irritating sometimes but you should know better because you are educated,” she added.
The pro-poor governor reiterated her call to “no balance billing policy” where in indigent kapampangans will not pay for their hospitalization and no deposit is required to be admitted in the hospital.

The governor then assured the family of the victim to receive financial assistance from the provincial government and to seek justice for the incident.
