CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—“I, Governor Pineda, your Vice-governor Dennis and your mayors, do not want to see anybody be executed in an oppressive manner notwithstanding a reputation of being a pusher. We have jail. We have the law. I do not know who’s responsible but being the mother of the province, I do not want anyone be killed in such illegal act”.
Thus said, Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda to thousands of barangay tanods who answered her call during their assembly at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, recently.
The governor also said that there are more than a thousand policemen in the province with around two million, two hundred population or 1 over 2,000 ratio.
Pineda even cited the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas during the latter’s visit and distribution of patrol vehicles here.
Roxas for his part said, he was amazed by the act of volunteerism shown by the Kapampangans for he knows no other province in the country that possesses such act of heroism.
The governor, during the assembly distributed calling cards to barangay tanods and urged them to come forward and report drug personalities they know of immediately to the governor, mayors and policemen. This, according to her will help curb drug trafficking in the province.
