Gov Orders Synchronized Youth Development Activities

Governor Lilia G. Pineda ordered the Pampanga Public Employment Services Office (PESO) to synchronize the programs of the youth in Pampanga and make a more effective and united front among them.

Luningning Vergara, Pampanga PESO manager, disclosed that the Governor wants the Sangguniang Kabataan members, the out-of-school- youth (OSY) and other youth organizations to come together and pursue activities that will strengthen their involvement in the province’s development.

Jonathan Lintag, PESO coordinator for youth affairs, will focus on this undertaking in coordination with Board Member Krizzanel Garbo and officers of the Pampanga Youth Organization (PYO) as they make up the bulk of youth in the province.

“The youth shall be on top of a clean up drive in their respective towns as part of the heightened awareness on a clean and green environment which the governor wants inculcated in them,” Vergara explained.

Aside from this campaign, they shall also be trained and given start up capital for their own livelihood activities, Lintag added.

“Before embarking on trainings, we will ensure that the most needy and deserving among the youth shall benefit and that the trainings shall correspond to the best livelihood activities needed in their areas,” he expounded.

This, Vergara disclosed, is part of the governor’s desire to empower the youth, particularly the OSY, via a massive campaign on livelihood and environmental concerns.

Because of the governor’s renewed emphasis on youth empowerment and synchronicity of their involvement, Vergara said “higit pang tututukan ng PESO, sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga opisinang tulad ng Department of Education (DepEd) at Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), at iba pang partner-organizations, ang pagsasanay at paggabay sa mga kabataan”.
