LUBAO – “Let us work this 2016 for a drug free Lubao and 2nd district. Let us be a model in achieving a drug free province.”
Thus said Gov. Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda during the Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign of the Provincial Peace and Order Council held at Lubao Gymnasium and attended by some 2,823 bantay bayan from the second district on Wednesday.
Gov. Pineda urged the ‘tanods’ to work hand in hand in the fight against illegal drugs in the province which is the common factor in a lot of crimes.
She also encouraged them to make a list of suspected drug personalities in their respective communities.
Pampanga Police Provincial Director SSupt Rodolfo Recomono Jr for his part lauded the efforts of the ‘tanods’ who serve as force multipliers in helping them curb criminalities in the province.
Recomono said the ‘tanod’ played a big part in the arrest of more than two thousand drug personalities in 2015.
“Malaking bagay ‘yong tulong ng mga bantay bayan dahil sila ‘yong nasa baba. Although meron kaming list of drug personalities, iba rin yung nalalaman nila na ibinibigay sa ‘min,” said Recomono.
Also present during the activity were Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Angie Blanco, former board member Fritzie David-Dizon and other capitol department heads.
