Gov Leads Groundbreaking of P14.3 M Hospital in Bulaon

Governor Lilia G. Pineda yesterday (March 22) led the groundbreaking and time capsule laying ceremonies for the renovation of the Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital at the Bulaon Resettlement in the City of San Fernando.

With a budget allocation of P14.3 million, the renovation project aims to further improve the delivery of medical and health services to the thousands of residents of the resettlement center, most of them originally from Bacolor town and were relocated to the area due to the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.

Pineda said that the delivery of prompt, complete and better health services to her constituents especially to the marginalized sectors is one the priority thrusts of her administration.

“Inaasahan nating hindi lamang mga taga rito sa Bulaon Resettlement ang maseserbisyuhan ng ospital  kundi pati na rin ang mga nasa kalapit na barangay.”

The governor also committed that once the renovation work is completed, the provincial government will ensure that it will be equipped with needed medical facilities and equipment.

She also reiterated her instructions to the various district hospitals in the province to deliver effective and efficient services to the public they serve.

According to Engineer Olimpio Pangan of the Provincial Engineer’s Office, the renovation project will be opened for bidding on March 27 as the actual work is scheduled on the third week of April.

Pangan said that the hospital’s present 25-bed capacity will be retained.

Early this year, the provincial government completed the construction and renovation of several district hospitals which include the Andres Luciano District Hospital in San Pablo, Magalang; Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital in Bacolor; Escolastica Romero District Hospital in Lubao; and Mayor Domingo Flores Memorial Hospital in Macabebe.

Provincial Board Members Monina Laus, Trina Dizon, Raul Macalino and Bacolor Mayor Jejomar Hizon witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony together with other concerned officials. (Erlinda T. Yutuc, Pampanga PIO)
