CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda lauded President Benigno S. Aquino III for the P15-B allocation of the Clark International Airport (CRK).
In her statement with the Pampanga reporters, Pineda cited Department of Budget and Management Secretary Florencio Abad, that the national government has a total allocation of P30 billion for the development of the Clark International Airport (CRK) passenger terminal.
“The whole Pampanga is grateful to President Noynoy Aquino for the approval of the P30-B which Secretary Abad revealed during our RDC meeting in Bulacan. He personally told me that the president would leave P30-B for the project, already approved by the NEDA,” the governor said.
“Several investors who want to do business here would no longer go through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), so it’s a good alleviation to them,” the governor added.
Reports revealed that the first half of the approved budget will guarantee the development of the world-class passenger terminal that will accommodate a total of 3 million passengers annually.
While the second phase of the project will provide expansion to accommodate another 5 milllion passengers annually.
More airlines would be expected to operate at CRK once the world-class passenger terminal has progressed into a new gateway for the country.
Should the first phase be completed within two years, after the bidding and construction which will start on 2016, it was learned.
