CITY OF SAN FERNANDO–The provincial government headed by Governor Lilia G. Pineda has provided a total of P460-million in less than five years of her administration to the 19 municipalities and one city in the province.
Reports revealed that every municipality received an amount of P23-million for their municipal development projects.
In 2010 and 2011, Capitol had allocated P160-million to the said municipalities and city.
In order to sustain the existing projects the local government units have for their constituents, some eleven municipalities and one city receive annual subsidy of P5-million.
While the 35 barangays who receive an IRA of less than a million get a P200,000 additional from the provincial government and P350,000 each for the City of San Fernando.
Besides the subsidy provided by the provincial government brand new Barangay Service Patrols were also distributed and now being used in times of emergency, rescue operations, maintaining peace and order, official business and other humanitarian purposes.
Subsequently, an “Aid to Barangay” in the amount of P5,000 is given every year to the 505 barangays in the province which totaled P2,525,000 from Capitol funds to supplement the projects of the barangays.
