CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Governor Lilia G. Pineda led the provision of P100-million development funds to the mayors and treasurers of the 19 towns and one city of the province the other day.
In a simple ceremony, the governor personally handed out P5-million to each town and city to be used for the infrastructure and other development projects of their respective areas for 2012.
According to Pineda, the funds were released to help facilitate the funding and processing of projects identified by the municipal local government units such as farm-to-market roads, classrooms, and other projects that have been personally identified by the local chief executives.
“Each mayor knows best what is needed for their respective areas thus; we are letting them choose the projects needed to be prioritized and funded,” Pineda said.
The governor also added the simultaneous implementation of projects in every municipality and city is crucial for the further improvement of the province.
“The mayors, in coordination with their municipal engineers, should utilize their resources and should not rely solely on our provincial engineers since they also have their own projects to handle,” Pineda stressed.
