Execs, Folks Laud Guv for P31-M Road Rehab

STA. RITA — Local executives and folks here and in Porac town lauded the provincial government headed by Governor Lilia G. Pineda for the seven-phased road projects amounting to a total of P31-million which traverses from Sta. Rita and Porac.

This town Mayor Yolanda Pineda and Porac Mayor Condralito dela Cruz had extended their deepest gratitude to the governor as this project will lead to progress, easy access for their constituents and will promote tourism to the areas as well.

Locals said this will boost the speedy development of these two municipalities in the second district as this will give easy access to hundreds of motorists daily.

Engr. Renato Gutierrez, head of the provincial engineering office said the infrastructure development includes improvement and rehabilitation of San Matias section (Phase 1) amounting to P8.2- million; Becuran-Dila-Dila section (Phase III) – P8.9- million; Pulung-Santol section (Phase VI) – P 8.8-million and Pulong Santol-Babo Sacan (Phase VII)mn- P5.7 million.

Gutierrez assured the locals here that this will be completed before the end of the year.

This came as the governor noted the heavily damaged road due to alleged overloaded quarry trucks which traverse here on a daily basis.

In addition to the road projects, Mayor Pineda will be implementing strict monitoring of overloaded trucks to protect the new roads from damages. On the other hand, Mayor Dela Cruz said that canalization works in different barangays will also be done as part of the road projects. (Joshua Marie Mercado, Pampanga PIO)
