DOLE gives Pampanga gov’t P4-M for livelihood of 138 Cabalens

DOLE Regional Director Ana Dione awards to Gov. Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda and Vice-Gov. Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda the P4-M check for the livelihood assistance of at least 138 Cabalens.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recently gave P4-million to the provincial government of Pampanga recently for the livelihood assistance of at least 138 Cabalens.

According to PESO manager Luningning Vergara, P4 million worth of livelihood program includes the distribution of nego trailers to 12 kapampangan associations with 15 members each, assistance to 50 sewers under Mananahing Kapampangan, 10 individual nego-kart beneficiaries, 16 group starter kit beneficiaries with 5 members each and 50 push carts for the scavengers.

Vergara said that this was made possible through the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) that will fund the various livelihood programs of the provincial government.

Vergara added that continuous monitoring of the dispatching of nego trailers, nego karts and push carts units will be performed by the agency in cooperation with the local employment offices to gauge the success of the project and the impact to the beneficiaries.

The distribution of nego trailers and nego karts is an effort of the provincial government to provide alternative source of livelihood for the workers from the informal sector.
