CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- The Department of Education (DepEd) School Division of Pampanga kicked – off on Monday the weeklong “Brigada Eskwela@ to different public schools in Pampanga.
This was announced by School Superintendent Leonardo Ding Zapanta of the DepEd Division of Pampanga during a phone patch interview at “Pampanga Kaluguran Daka” aired over RW 95.1 FM every Tuesday and Friday, from 7 to 8am.
According to Zapanta, the activity started with a flag ceremony attended by different organizations, government agencies, and non-government organization including parents at San Pablo High School in Barangay San Pablo II, Lubao town.
He said that the materials and equipment they would utilize in the Brigada Eskwela came from the voluntary donation of the parents wherein they also brought cleaning and decorating materials such as broom, pail and dipper, paint, scissors and hammer.
The parents will paint the rooms, repair broken chairs and clean the surroundings, he said.
He added that the barangay officials donated school supplies for grade 1 and kinder pupils while the municipal police gave guidelines on what to do if earthquake occurs.
Asked if they will allow drug surrenderers to participate in the Brigada Eskwela, Zapanta said, “it’s okay that the drug surrenderers help in brigada eskwela, but the police should be on guard to ensure the safety of the children who joined the Brigada”.
A total of 350,000 students from Kinder to Grade 12 are expected to enrol this school year in the province.
Enrolment is scheduled next week and the classes are set to begin on June 5.
