CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Education (DepEd) Pampanga disclosed its plan of conducting advance classes in all public elementary and high schools before disaster hits the province.
Superintendent Malcom Garma of DepEd Pampanga said instead of make-up classes it will be better for the students and teachers to advance their lessons.
He added their office will give instructions to public schools to conduct classes every Saturdays especially on low lying areas where floodings stayed longer.
“This is our disaster management plan to guard the education of the youth against the effect of class suspensions. Our teachers should grab the opportunity to take advance classes while the weather is still good,” he said
Supt. Garma further disclosed that they plan to propose a partnership with local government units about mobile classroom. Here, they will conduct classes on evacuation centers.
“If they will agree with our proposed partnership, the DepEd will provide the teachers and teaching materials while the LGU will shoulder the vehicle,” he said.
