Delta wants P10-million for “Dalan Ning Pamagbayu”

City of San Fernando – The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) approved the P10-million proposal of Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda for the anti-illegal drug campaign and rehabilitation of drug users program, dubbed as “Dalan Ning Pamagbayu (Path to Change).”
The P10-million fund will be subsequently approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan presided by Vice Governor Pineda including the Provincial Action Plan against Illegal Drugs.
Delta added that the provincial government offers a thorough program for drug suspects who voluntarily surrendered unlike other provinces and cities where they will just document and monitor those who surrendered.
“We will give them activities to make sure they will totally quit their addiction to have a better life”, he added.
The vice governor said that the budget won’t be able to cover all of the surrenderees subject for rehabilitation for 6-month program which costs P5,000 per month in Central Luzon Drug Rehabilitation Center in Magalang town.
This also includes other expenses related to the program including the provision of livelihood assistance.
Despite the lack of budget, he is still positive that the ‘Dalan Ning Pamagbayu’ will succeed with the help of other agencies especially the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) and the Philippine National Police.
He also said that the provincial board will augment the existing budget of P10-million in order to accommodate all of the drug users who seek for rehabilitation to be shouldered by the Capitol.
